**What will my key accountabilities be?**

**Employee / Industrial Relations**
- Provide expert advice in the areas of ER and IR to restaurant owners, employees, managers and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Head of Workplace Relations to identify and action opportunities to continuously improve McDonald’s People practices, supporting technology and systems, and policy infrastructure to ensure McDonald’s maintains our position as a best-in-class employer.
- Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects focused on protecting the Brand and optimising McDonald’s compliance with pay and other legal employment standards.
- Play a role in educating and supporting Operations and franchisees with people-related issues, supporting the ongoing review, development and execution of our Compliance Framework process.
- Lead the development and refinement of McDonald’s restaurant-facing policies and procedures; develop and lead training and facilitation to ensure policy adoption and legal compliance by McDonald’s.
- Provide support and direction to the Employee Relations team to provide excellent quality service to users of the Employee Relations Hotline; ensuring that advice and information is accurate, timely and contributes to our goal of being Australia’s most respected employer.
- Monitor the volume, type and resolution of contacts to the Employee Relations Hotline to ensure that matters are resolved fully and in a timely manner. Use contact data to identify trends or issues that may require escalation or action; develop restaurant resources to support people best practice and legal compliance.

**Case Management / Investigations**
- Provide training and support to others within the business who may need to be involved in or conduct investigations, including ensuring that the Employee Relations Advisors have the relevant skills and ability to conduct minor investigations.
- Conduct (or oversee the conduct of) investigations into employment-related allegations such as allegations of bullying, harassment, discrimination, People practices breaches and other employment-related matters.
- Manage and resolve any escalated ER issues of a complex nature received via the ER Hotline.
- Monitoring the volume and type of claims received by McDonald’s and identification of any trends or issues. In conjunction with relevant departments, implement appropriate training, resources or policy responses.

**Training and Facilitation**
- Facilitate employee relations related content at senior restaurant management courses and business meetings.
- Assist with the National Training team in relation to any employee relations related updates to curriculum.

**Essential technical and behavioural skills**
- Demonstrated experience interpreting employment related legislation and Awards (Fast food or retail exposure advantageous, but not essential)
- Demonstrated experience in case management and investigations
- Strong influencing skills, able to work with others to shape business outcomes and company culture.
- Organised, methodical and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple complex matters at once.
- Great at building strong interpersonal relationships with co-workers, stakeholders and third parties.
- A clear and concise communicator (verbal and written), able to help all stakeholders understand important / complex informat
