Service Manager

Job Description:
Position Overview

The Service Manager provides our customers with the highest level of service and aftermarket support on crushers, feeders and screens.

**Responsibilities**:

- Customer Service_- Regularly communication with customers to establish their level of satisfaction,- Provide customers with quotations for equipment repair,- Liaise with purchasing team to ensure that orders with Terex Jaques’ suppliers are received on time for active service jobs.
- Workshop and Site Service_- Oversee and conduct condition report the dismantling of each machine and inspection of its components,- Ensure that all outsourced service repair work is competitively priced and completed to the required quality standard;- Commission new machine installations when required;- Ensure the maintenance of the workshop is maintained to the highest standard.- Ensure that all work is completed on time and to the required standard of quality;
- Technical/Administrative_
- Functions_- Ensure that each service job is registered in the ERP system and all parts are correctly allocated in a timely manner,- Plan, document and understand the requirements/support needed to complete the job safely and efficiently,- On completion of each service job, gather all costs relating to the service job and to ensure invoice is accurate for the customer,- Ensure the Engineering Department is notified of significant changes made to a machine that may need to be recorded on the machine’s Master Schedule.
- Communication and Reporting_- Report progress of existing service jobs and expected completion date,- Handle and report disputes with customers that may affect cash flow,- Conduct market research (conditions, customers, new products and competitors),- Any staffing related issues in regards to work performance or compliance with company polies and procedures,- Preparation of the annual plan and budget for service sales.
- Human Resource Management and Occupational Health and Safety_- Manage the service technicians on a day-to-day basis,- Provide leadership, technical advice and product training,- Participate and conduct in performance review,- Investigate all accidents and assist in the risk assessment process,- Contribute to the overall improvement of health and safety in the workplace.

Skills and Qualifications- Mechanical trade or appropriate combination of education and experience,- Minimal 5 years’ experience as a mechanical fitter and proven people management skills,- Experience within the mineral crushing and screening industry preferable,- Computer literate in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook) and experience with ERP would be well regarded,- This position will require travel.
