About the Role:
As the Manager, Health, Safety and Environment Risk, Governance and Assurance you will be responsible for driving and managing the development and implementation of HSE systems, processes, governance activities, reporting and continuous improvement opportunities. You will work closely with the HSE Leadership Team and you will help shape AGL’s strategic focus and lead the implementation of initiatives and projects that improve our HSE performance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the HSE Risk, Governance and Assurance team to ensure that the HSE strategy supports the current and future needs of the business and is effectively embedded across the organisation
- Design, develop and facilitate initiatives that focus on building HSE governance and risk management capability across the organisation
- Promote and support improvement of hazard, near miss and incident reporting and identify programs which improve the culture of event reporting
- Develop and instil a workplace culture of best practice; a focus on continuous improvement and where the health, safety and environment are prioritised
- Design, develop and embed a HSE risk, governance and assurance program across all Business Units, which includes an audit program and a method for the validation and verification of controls and actions.
- Oversee the incident investigation processes, ensuring continuous improvement in the process and compliance with the policy and that learnings are shared, and actions embedded across the business
- Develop assurance and governance processes and drive continuous improvement within the HSE Contractor Management systems and processes
About You:
You will be an experienced HSE leader with a collaborative style, the ability to manage and influence a range of stakeholders including senior management, strong risk evaluation and management skills, a sound understanding of ISO accreditation requirements and the ability to inspire high levels of employee engagement on HSE matters.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Environment, Engineering, Technology or Business discipline
- Lead auditor and ICAM incident investigation lead investigator recognition is highly regarded
- The ability to evaluate options and make recommendations based on the business strategy and compliance obligations
- A minimum of 5 years of HSE leadership and 10 years of experience in a high risk industries
- Experience and expertise in the development and continuous improvement of HSE Management Systems, Risk, Governance and Assurance
- Comprehensive understanding of the HSE legislative frameworks across all jurisdictions and ability to clearly and concisely communicate legal requirements
- Experience in incident investigations and management, auditing and assurance
