Key responsibilities for this role:

The Health and Safety Manager works closely with the General Manager Health and Safety, Regional Safety Partners and Operations Management to lead and positively influence proactive, risk-based health and safety across HVP's employees and contractors.

As a critical subject matter expert and change agent, the Health and Safety Manager will champion a strong health and safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key aspects of this role includes;

• Manage and continuously improve the organisation's Safety Management System to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Engaging, mentoring, supporting and providing subject management expertise to empower management, employees and contractors across HVP to deliver exceptional health and safety outcomes.
• Conduct and oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent safety practices and shared learning across the industry.
• Play a leading role in significant incident investigation and response.

Our team is looking for someone who has:

• Contemporary and relevant health and safety management experience, preferably involving high risk operations and large contractor workforces.
• Pro-active, collaborative and practical leadership style that gets the job done.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
