Technical Claims Specialist

This role is integral to the delivery of claims management services to our clients. You will handle a portfolio of general insurance claims for Local Government clients, with a focus on liability claims._
**_ We will count on you to:_**
- _ Manage end-to-end processes for a mixed portfolio of primarily Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property claims;_
- _ Conduct accurate reserving, claims investigation, manage claims costs, and negotiate with various third parties;_
- _ Build and maintain rapport with clients;_
- _ Analysing the entitlements of cover to Clients _
- _Dealing with external reinsurers on a quarterly basis _
- _Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters, and reinsurers._
**_ What you need to have: _**
- _7+ years of general insurance claims experience _
- _Good written and oral communication skills;_
- _ A strong customer service approach;_
- _ The ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work flexibly when required;_
- _ Previous experience in provide indemnity advice to stakeholders _
- _Deductive reasoning and problem solving skills _
- _The ability to work in Australia. _

- The following, while not required, would be highly regarded:_
- _ Experience in managing high value public liability, property claims and D&O claims _
- _Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Business/Commerce, Loss Adjusting or ANZIIF studies;_
- _ Previous client facing experience._
- _ Previous experience in mentoring colleagues _
