About the Role
**Responsibilities include**:
- Lead, manage and continue to build a team of branch staff, both public servants and contractors, responsible for the provision of purchasing and procurement advice and support services to schools and regional offices.
- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of department purchasing and procurement policies, procedures, templates and instructions consistent with Government policy and procurement best practice.
- Monitor policy compliance of staff undertaking purchasing activities across the department, and implement strategies to raise compliance levels and improve purchasing outcomes.
- Oversee the development and delivery of training to staff involved in key activities throughout the contract management lifecycle, including the delivery of Purchasing Delegate training.
- Establish communication channels with Purchasing Delegates and other department staff to raise awareness of department purchasing policies and promote policy compliance.
