We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a background in procurement to join our team based in Bowen Hills to help us achieve our ambitious Net zero targets. You will be responsible for driving improvements in the capture and reporting of our Scope 3 emissions and drafting and delivering advice on how to reduce those emissions.
The role will see you influencing sustainable procurement strategies and collaborating with ALS procurement and suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement.
To succeed, you will be commercially focused, pro-active and can combine a working knowledge of procurement flow-process fundamentals, from source to contract, including tender evaluation and supplier review, and you can interpret data and reporting to provide sustainability centric findings to a broad audience.
Ideally, you’ll demonstrate prior experience in managing supply chain sustainability initiatives from within a procurement role with added expertise in project management/delivery. You will have exceptional organisation, time management and prioritisation skills and can leverage these to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects and initiatives. With an engaging interpersonal style, you’ll guide and influence your stakeholders (both internal and external) and can negotiate to achieve suitable outcomes aligned with strategic priorities.
As a member of our team you’ll collaborate with ALS corporate and regional procurement teams, as well as other departments to integrate sustainability and net-zero objectives into their practices to support net-zero raw procurement. You’ll also influence the supplier selection process and contract terms with suppliers to support our net-zero objectives.
**The day to day**
- Generate transparency through the preparation and consolidation of the relevant data. Based on this, you will work with the Sustainability team to derive measures to reduce the emissions
- Develop and operate group-wide networks in close coordination with other processes in the context of sustainability
- Run projects for data consolidation and emission reduction in procurement within the group and in collaboration with external partners
- Support the local entities in achieving the sustainability goals
- Lead coordination/collaboration efforts within procurement and with internal partners to ensure that our net zero ambitions, commitments and targets are realised in an effective and efficient manner
- In partnership with ALS procurement team, engage with suppliers and internal partners regarding commercial initiatives that impact, or are impacted by, priority issues and targets
**Preferred experience**
- Excellent knowledge of procurement and commercial negotiation techniques
- Strong understanding and interest in ESG issues
- Ability to understand the commercial and technical needs of Internal Partners
- Endurance and perseverance to find the most effective and efficient solutions
- Ability to balance the firm's commercial interests with its ESG ambition, commitments and targets
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to lead, influence and engage various Internal Partners and suppliers in order to drive and deliver on Net Zero ambition, commitments and targets
- Wider procurement experience gained from either client, contractor or consulting organisation
- Experience in implementing sustainable procurement processes within Consulting or a large organisation.
- Experience and knowledge of the key responsible sourcing issue areas; human rights, the environment, health and safety, anti-bribery & corruption, labour practices and Sustainable procurement
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards in the area of compliance such as CSRD, IFRS, ASRS, GHG Protocol etc. is desirable
