**The Role**
The Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics (CDLE) is to establish a system to design and develop Social Mastery (SM) education and training (E&T) of military and civilian Defence personnel. This position is new, so its duties will evolve. The person in this position will:
- Work in an integrated team of Australian Defence Force (ADF) military members and Australian Public Service (APS) civilian employees;
- Work closely with the RAN, Army, RAAF, and other Defence Groups;
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an ADF SM E&T implementation architecture;
- Manage assigned aspects of the design and development of common SM E&T continua and/or curricula (for the Services and Groups to deliver in their context);
- Support meetings of Defence SM E&T forums, working groups, and committees; and
- Appropriately manage assigned ADF and APS staff.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to achieving whole-of-enterprise consistency of SM E&T which is delivered through a decentralized model by Defence training branches and establishments.

The Australian Defence College's (ADC) Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics (CDLE) leads in the professional military education of ‘Social Mastery’ for military and civilian personnel in the Australian Defence Organisation (Defence) - comprising the Australian Defence Force and the Department of Defence.

- An E&T professional, experienced in the design and development of large organisation-wide/industry-wide adult E&T continua and curricula.
- Adept at collaborating across a large and complex organisation comprising many perspectives, and constructively resolving uncertainty or disagreement.
- Comfortable working to achieve Defence’s mission and being informed of the sometimes confronting nature of Defence’s operations and activities.
- Willing and able to work cooperatively in CDLE’s integrated ADF and APS workforce, and positively manage assigned ADF and APS staff.
- Able to contribute to CDLE’s mission with enthusiasm, proactivity, and ingenuity.
- Preferably, experienced working in, or closely with, the military and experienced in implementing the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (or similar system).
