Melbourne City Centre, Australia Transurban Full time

This is a 6 month contingent/contract position, based in Melbourne CBD.

Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.

About the role

As a Project Coordinator - Agile, you will be instrumental in steering our projects towards success by facilitating Agile ceremonies that promote collaboration and efficiency within the team. Your role will involve managing standard recurring reporting, which is crucial for maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will work closely with the Project Manager to support essential Project Management Office (PMO) functions. This includes ensuring that all project documentation is meticulously maintained, overseeing schedule management to keep projects on track, and implementing effective risk management practices to identify and address potential issues proactively. You will also play a key role in financial management, helping to monitor budgets and ensure that resources are utilized effectively.

As our Project Coordinator - Agile, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Organize and lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and showcases to ensure effective team collaboration.
- Maintain Sprint Hygiene: Support teams in grooming backlogs and keeping Jira cards updated for smooth project flow.
- Agile Reporting: Help define and deliver Agile metrics, integrating them into overall project reporting.
- Project Reporting: Coordinate and compile weekly, fortnightly, and monthly reports; assist in preparing materials for executive meetings.
- Project Support: Ensure alignment between waterfall schedules and Agile sprint plans, maintaining registers for risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Documentation Management: Ensure key artifacts and decisions are accessible to team members.
- Financial Tracking: Assist in monitoring finances and timesheets, as well as supporting procurement activities.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and organize recurring meetings for key project teams.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

- Demonstrated experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) or a similar role, showcasing a solid understanding of project governance and best practices.
- Proven ability to either lead or actively participate in Agile ceremonies, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances team performance and project outcomes.
- Proficient in tracking project progress and generating reports in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Highly skilled in using Jira and Confluence for project management and documentation, enabling efficient workflow management and team collaboration.
- Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed effectively.
- Agile and/or Project Management certifications are highly regarded, reflecting a commitment to professional development and a deep understanding of project management principles.

With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

- A range of flexible working options
- Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests
- Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and EAP program, wellness facilities, and more
- Through our contingent partner, you will have access to novated car leases and a contractor benefits program
- Social activities and groups

We offer a range of flexible working options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.

We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience - whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.
