**The Role**
The S&T3-4 Radio Frequency Electronics technician is accountable under general direction in the design, construction and testing of bespoke RF Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment in support of RF Sensing and Shaping Group research activities.
The duties include:

- Performing moderately complex RF electronic design and construction tasks under general direction in support of electronic warfare research activities.
- Review data results and provide straightforward analysis to meet work objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to research activities.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, adapting to different styles to ensure that requirements for research and development activities within electronic warfare are understood.
- Assess and verify existing electronic warfare systems and data and report on results.
- Solve straightforward problems by following established industry practices, operating policies and procedures and seek guidance on more complex issues**.**

**About our Team**
Sensors and Effectors Division undertakes research and development focused on identifying, analysing and countering threats to Australia's Defence and national security through electronic means. Electronic Warfare Operations branch conceives, develops and validates EW technologies and techniques to enhance the survivability and mission assurance of the ADF.

The Radio Frequency (RF) Sensing and Shaping Science and Technology Capability undertakes analysis and development of subsystems and next generation RF EW sensors and effectors for self-protection and survivability. We have a long history leading the Australian S&T efforts in the Nulka program and pride ourselves on delivering world-leading capability to the ADF.
- An understanding of, and an ability to use, modern RF test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory and in field trials environments.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret and convey information via documentation such as circuit diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- A high level of initiative and self-motivation.
