**The Role**
We are seeking a researcher in signal processing for High Frequency (HF) radar systems. You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative signal processing algorithms and electronic protection techniques to support and protect HF radar systems.

As a researcher in signal processing, you will:

- Develop innovative signal processing algorithms and electronic protection techniques and work collaboratively with other researchers and engineers to practically integrate them into experimental and operational HF radar systems.
- Use scientific or technical knowledge to recommend the most effective solutions to achieve outcomes.
- Participate in trials to assess performance of HF radar systems.
- Deliver high quality technical reporting including journal publications, briefs and presentations.
- Work closely with industry to transition new signal processing algorithms and electronic protection techniques developed by DSTG into operational capabilities for the ADF.
- Support science and technology (S&T) capability through collaboration with other teams and stakeholders including academia, industry and external research organisations.

**About our Team**

The HF Sensing & Protection STC within the RFS&EW MSTC drives multi-disciplinary research and sophisticated experimentation to develop and demonstrate advanced active and passive HF sensing capabilities. It has a strong focus in building operational demonstrators to practically demonstrate advanced radar detection and tracking, electronic protection and mission level protection and to inform Defence acquisitions. It collaborates with industry partners to transition innovative technologies into operational capabilities.

We are looking for a motivated team player with a passion in developing signal processing algorithms and transitioning them into operational capabilities for the ADF.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience in developing signal processing algorithms.
- Ability to work independently and as an inclusive team member, valuing diversity of ideas.
- Ability to build good stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with coding in languages such as Matlab/Octave, Python, and/or C++.
