**Position Information**:
St Clair Public School is a vibrant school where opportunities for students to grow and develop are valued by staff, parents/carers and the broader community. The school has an enrolment of 329 students, 7% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. A comprehensive curriculum catering for differences in achievement and ability is provided to students. In addition to five (5) Multi-categorical Support Classes, St Clair Public School is also a host school for an Itinerant Support Hearing Team and an Assistant Principal, Learning and Support. Effective literacy and numeracy programs are complemented by co-curricular programs in the Arts, student leadership and sport. St Clair Public School has a committed and professional staff, ranging from early career through to highly experienced. Parents and carers value education and welcome opportunities to partner with the school for sporting and cultural events as well as curriculum connections.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria, proven ability to be a collaborative, approachable and visible leader with outstanding personal and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead staff in providing inclusive learning environments which meet the varied needs of all students. Demonstrated ability to lead a culture of enhancing school/home/community connections, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents and carers.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
