- The role assists in ensuring VCAT meet its financial requirements and reporting obligations
- The Finance officer will also support internal and external stakeholder relationships across VCAT
**About us**
VCAT serves the community by resolving civil and administrative disputes, and making decisions in human rights and guardianship cases. VCAT services a diverse range of Victorian disputes, from residential tenancy matters to complex building and property and human rights matters, which have a deep reach into the Victorian community and a direct impact on the economy, in particular, in planning, property, health and small business.
**About the role**
- Supporting effective financial management and accurate general ledger capture by undertaking regular analysis and action on overdue invoices and working closely with the Contract and Procurement Officer to ensure alignment of Zycus contracts and Oracle purchase orders and associated invoice payments, including preparation of monthly creditor accruals with the support of the Senior Finance Officer.
- Support financial processing including preparation of standing general ledger journals and allocations with the support of the Senior Finance Officer
- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Team as required
- Monitoring financial compliance including: petty cash management, monitoring employee reimbursement against CSV's policy, monitoring procurement activity against CSV's procurement framework, staff processing of payments against online payment channels and VCAT's case management system.
**About you**
- Sound knowledge of government and departmental financial policies and guidelines
- Demonstrated experience in Oracle Financials and Zycus (preferred, not essential), Excel and Word software packages
- Demonstrated initiative to problem-solve financial administration and process matters and a spirit for continuous improvement
- Understanding of the Procure-to-Pay finance business cycle (highly desirable)
