**Your new role**

This is an exciting position where you will work in a key position specialising in First Nations Affairs to engage with a range of teams within the Department to ensure that the development of their programs, policies and legislation is inclusive of a strategy that includes a drive towards First Nations Health improvement. Duties of this role are inclusive of, but not limited to the following;
- Manage high profile communication for Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander committees and communities
- Work with members and first nations, stakeholders to understand needs
- Policy review and Development
- Review and analyse evidence and develop briefs
- Develop papers for discussion to guide the committee on health protection matters
- Draft and Develop Briefs to ministers and executives

**What you'll need to succeed**

This role is only open to Australian citizens and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2). You must also be willing to undertake a National Police Check.

To be successful in this role you must have at least 4 years experience in a policy position or have extensive experience in the below;
- Strong writing skills
- Cultural competency - First Nations and Torre Strait Islander Peoples
- Familiarity with the budget process
- Work with limited guidance, be flexible and resistant, adaptable
