Overview:
Marketing Manager to lead marketing activities for Australia. Exercises independent judgment and performs most assignments based on specification of desired results. May supervise administrative and marketing-related support staff, such as Sr. Marketing Specialist, Marketing Specialist I, Marketing Specialist II, Marketing Coordinator or Marketing Assistants. May also coordinate/direct the efforts of teaming partners/subconsultants, specialized consultants, such as photographers and other marketing related vendors. Is fully responsible for planning, directing, and executing all aspects of a key firm operation in concert with the marketing plans and goals of top management. In addition to routine matters, deals competently with unusual problems or controversial situations related to an area of expertise. Is a member of firm’s core management group. Establishes and/or implements firm policy in specialized area (focus on proposals). May assume temporary supervisory responsibility for technical staff assigned to marketing projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- With guidance from NA Regional Marketing Director, implement marketing objectives to meet firmwide goals.
- Direct training of marketing staff and technical staff on marketing-related issues.
- Plan and schedule marketing support activities to ensure that goals are accomplished, and deadlines are met.
- Works closely with regional and sector leadership and business development team to develop and implement overall pursuit and sales strategy.
- Develops strategy for high profile project-specific marketing activities in concert with the business development team and leadership and establishes a pursuit schedule.
- Oversees implementation of the Integral Group brand messaging and visual identity in alignment with corporate standards and guidelines.
- Oversees (and participates in as necessary) the development of all marketing materials.
- Oversees the ongoing development and refinement of marketing content that tells compelling stories that resonate with the target audiences.
- Manages workload of marketing team, setting priorities and schedules based on the needs of office and leadership, the business development team and in support of corporate initiatives.
- On an as-needed basis, collaborates with leadership and Corporate Communications to execute specific communications initiatives to raise visibility of the firm and position key staff as design and knowledge leaders. Communications and Branding are not core functions of this role, so this is a collaborative function.
- Develops and implements communications and thought leadership plans to establish the practice as a design leader in key markets.
- Serves as a communication link between offices, lines of businesses, disciplines, and corporate resources, sharing marketing activities and efficacy of efforts.
- Conducts post-award debriefings with prospects regardless of outcome, and revises qualifications and proposal strategies as appropriate.
- Develops systems to extract, categorize and retrieve information related to consultants, personnel, projects, prior proposals, boilerplate, visuals, mailing lists, and promotional items.
- Refines the design/production process to improve efficiency and quality control.
- Analyzes costs/benefits for marketing techniques and continuously improves effectiveness of activities.
- Develops, evaluates and/or reports progress of annual pursuit and sales plan, including specific goals, strategies, action plans, and schedules.
- Collaborates with leadership to develop annual marketing budget, monitors resources to ensure consistency with budget and plan.
- Represents firm to clients, business associates and industry-related organizations, as needed.
- Interfaces with people both inside and outside the firm as necessary to fulfill job requirements.
- Directs and assists in research of markets and clients, sharing relevant information with other offices and practices.
- Assists in other marketing areas as requested or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or technical field; minimum of 10 years of marketing experience in an A/E/C firm.
- 15+ years of proposal experience, including responsibility as a Proposal Manager.
- Thorough understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and procedures.
- Minimum of three to five years of management experience required.
- Excellent writing and communication skills and attention to detail is also required.
- Thorough knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
- Must be proficient using MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat).
- Knowledge of CRM systems preferred. Ability to travel to other local office as needed.
