**The Role**
The Unit Safety Advisor (USA) is responsible to the Commanding Officer 34 Squadron for due diligence activities IAW WHS Act 2011. There is a broad range of safety governance, assurance, reporting and education that is involved with this position.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, ideally with Defence industry experience who is willing to learn and able to communicate effectively the safety risks and mitigations within a workplace.
**About our Team**
34 Squadron is a squadron within Air Mobility Group who is responsible for the VIP transport for the government of the day. As a high tempo, flying squadron with high reputational representation by Senior Leadership of both Air Force and the ADF, the focus on safety is critical to the organisation's mission.
You will be part of the executive team and have expertise in the safety risks, mitigations and provide governance and assurance to the Commanding Officer of 34SQN.
- Enthusiastic, willing to learn and has a key attention to detail.
- Initiative to identify resolutions, and be both reactive and proactive with safety measures, educations and reporting.
- Experience within a WHS related role before is not mandatory but provides additional experience to lean on and utilise.
- Strong communication skills to command and leadership.
