About the role and team
G4S provide front-of-house security services at Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility, which is an adaptable model of transitional accommodation for men recently released from custody that would otherwise be homeless. This allows them a safe place to live and reintegrate into our communities.
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our 25-person team, which includes our Centre Manager, 5 Team Leaders, and 19 Residential Security Officers (RSOs). We are seeking a role model who can foster a productive and collaborative workplace culture, and who can demonstrate care and empathy to our team and the residents of the facility. Experience in corrections, justice, the police force, the courts, or the defence force will be highly regarded for this position.

**Duties of the role include**:

- Oversee and observe Residential Security Officers (RSOs) daily duties and rotation through various posts including reception, covid triage, gatehouse access control, community walks, and control room duties.
- Manage RSO performance and behaviour, including helping set personal goals and providing developmental feedback as required.
- Manage staff rosters, including managing personal leave, annual leave, and shift swaps.
- Complete timely, accurate and detailed incident reports, while managing each incident end-to-end in accordance with G4S operating instructions.
- Emergency management, including being a Chief Fire Warden, being a Chief Controller in our onsite control room, and contacting the emergency services when necessary.
- Conduct interviews with our Centre Manager for new Residential Security Officers.
- Manage new starter onboarding, offboarding, and training.
- Document creation and Centre administration, including creating notices on Microsoft Word to put around the facility, filling out forms to make special arrangements for residents, and posting regularly to group forums to provide daily updates on new residents or resident movements.

About the roster
This position is 24/7 and includes a mix of weekdays, nights, and weekends.
Shifts are of 12 hours' duration and are 6AM - 6PM or 6PM - 6AM. You will be working 38 hours per week, on average.
Typically, you will do 3 weeks of days, and 2 weeks of nights.
What we're looking for
- Triple vaccinated against covid-19 (2 doses + the booster).
- Demonstrated staff management and positive interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate and ability to produce word documents and excel workbooks.
- A Certificate 3 or 4 in Community Services, Security, or similar.

Desirable criteria
- A Certificate 3 or 4 in Corrections, Community Services, or similar.
- Experience in the police force as a police officer or protective services officer would be highly regarded. (PSOs)
- Previous experience in roster management.
- Previous experience in a correctional or justice environment.
