**About the opportunity**
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Strategy Analyst to join Energy Safe's Strategy and Risks Team within the Finance, Strategy and Risks Division.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Develop Strategy and Risk department data and reporting requirements and work with stakeholders to improve reporting and analytics products.
- Provide performance measure support to the annual business planning process and the delivery of Energy Safe's Corporate Plan. Assist with producing other key documents and artefacts including strategy documents.
- Support workshops with internal and external stakeholders to identify, analyse and maintain Energy Safe's understanding of opportunities, issues, problems, strategic risks and regulatory harms and document outputs.
- Interface with the Data and Regulatory Intelligence department on artificial intelligence, deep learning and machine learning techniques to improve Energy Safe's regulatory practices and decision making.
- Assist the Strategy Manager with regulatory intelligence and research, assessing the external environment and internal environment to identify emerging risks, problems, trends and opportunities to inform Energy Safe's strategic direction.
- Assist the Strategy Manager to design, document, manage and improve the organisational strategic framework and strategy lifecycle.
- Assist in initiating and planning strategic programs and projects and ongoing monitoring of strategic program progress.
- Prepare and present accurate, concise, timely and relevant documentation, briefings, papers, correspondence, submissions, and reports to articulate complex concepts for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated and consistent service delivery by the Strategy and Risk department.
**To be successful, you'll have**:
- A tertiary qualification in data science, computer science or related disciplines
- Qualifications in organisational strategy development, strategy implementation or project management would be highly regarded
- Demonstrable sound experience using data science to enhance risk-based strategy by interpreting and using data to identify risks, trends, correlations, relationships and patterns that can influence strategic decisions in a regulatory environment.
- Advanced analytical research skills and the ability to provide advice and/or reports to stakeholders on technical issues or regulatory harms, to support decision making.
- including using visualisation to tell a story and support strategic decision making.
- Highly organised with the ability to work creatively and analytically in decision making and problem-solving environments, with excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience in supporting strategy formulation or strategic program initiation.
- Strong communication skills (data, written and verbal), including brief writing, document development and record keeping skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including influencing and negotiation skills to ensure effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
