**The opportunity**

We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Claims Manager to join our Marine Specialty Claims Team. Reporting to the Head of Specialty Claims, you will be responsible for setting strategies and procedures, leadership and providing coaching.

**Your new role**
- Develop and implement technical strategies and action plans specific to the business to meet and improve the performance of the claims department
- Work with the leadership team towards the implementation of claims management strategies and objectives for each product line
- Manage compliance frameworks and ensure compliance with all legislation, industry codes and company policies
- Work with key stakeholders/ business managers to develop sustainable Claims products and services to attract and retain customers and increase profitability
- Monitor industry/ market/ legal trends and provide recommendations for change strategies to ensure the company remains fully informed and receptive to change
- Monitor claims management performance against published legislation and policy guidelines to meet audit requirements, regulatory requirements and claims guidelines
- Provide coaching, support, and guidance to Claims Officers
- Influence and provide leadership to Marine claims team

**About you**
- Previous extensive experience managing a claims team
- Marine Claims experience preferable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare extensive reports
- Excellent analysis and problems solving skills
- Understanding of legislative and compliance requirements in an insurance setting
