**THE ROLE**

The Group Financial Reporting team exists to manage and support Origin's external and Internal accounting and reporting requirements. This includes providing senior management with insightful financial reporting for decision making and transparent and informative reporting for Origin's external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Manager this role is a key member of the team and will lead financial due diligence procedures and technical accounting assessments for potential corporate acquisitions, divestments and other strategic transactions. In addition, this role will lead the Group's impairment testing and other technical accounting and financial reporting items as they arise.

The role will have an active involvement in all Group Statutory Reporting requirements; preparation of consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, Audit Committee/Board reporting including preparing/reviewing papers; providing technical accounting guidance to the Business and providing input/reviewing all financial information released externally to ensure the integrity and consistency of the information.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

- Assessing the accounting and financial impacts of proposed strategic transactions including acquisitions, disposals and other commercial transactions.
- Prepare Origin Group Audit Committee papers, providing insight into financial consequences of key transactions impacting the Origin Group.
- Lead the bi‐annual impairment testing process providing guidance and assistance to Business Unit teams and consolidating and reporting outcomes.
- Operate as a business partner and technical accounting and reporting leader for commercial and finance teams within the Origin Group.
- Develop effective communication strategies to ensure clear understanding of accounting standards and strategic transactions across the Group.
- Education and communication of the statutory financial consequences of strategic transactions to senior leadership.
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct accounting and disclosure of key transactions and other financial reporting Issues.

**IS THIS YOU?**

You’ll be commercially focused, have experience dealing with senior stakeholders and you will bring a strategic financial focus to the role. You’ll be degree qualified in Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Business and also hold CA / CPA qualifications.

You have or can demonstrate:

- At least 5 years post qualification experience in a Big 4 or large corporate environment
- Ability to operate as a business partner and work collaboratively with staff and others not under direct control. The ability to influence outcomes in a large corporate environment.
- Highly numerate with financial accounting and ASX statutory reporting experience and an understanding of complex commercial and technical accounting concepts.
- Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills
- Possess a high level of self‐motivation, skills in prioritising and managing time to fulfil responsibilities to a high standard.
- Ability to use initiative and be proactive in resolving complex issues
- Team player and able to work collaboratively with others

It would be advantageous if you also had:

- Experience in using S4 HANA and Group Reporting
- Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or energy business
