Planning & Purchasing Role with Energy Provider - Naval Base

**Planning and Procurement Officer - Australia**

This varied and interesting role reports to Supply Chain Lead with an Energy supplier. As Planning and Procurement Officer you will be responsible for planning, procurement, inventory management, assistance with developing project quotations, offering sourcing solutions and assistance with product identification and costing.

**Duties**:

- Execute MRP’s in a required timeframe, review requisitions, issue RFQ’s and raise Purchase Orders accordingly
- Analyse sales and inventory data to identify excess, fluctuations, or unusual activity to ensure planned range availability while minimising overstocked product
- Highlight obsolete and non-moving materials on call up data to Internal Sales Managers
- Develop knowledge of the product groups and monitor pricing trends to assist the business in purchasing competitively priced product
- Review the full range of supply options, inclusive of negotiating competitive pricing, delivery, and extended payment terms
- Expedite stock orders; manage all aspects of shipping and documentation requirements for timely customs clearance
- Obtain freight quotations when required, accrue freight, and ensure freight invoices are fair and accurate
- Monitor supplier performance to achieve on time delivery and price competitiveness.
- Ensure supplier conformance to product specification and packing requirements and assist with supplier claims/NCRs as required.
- Prioritise product range inventory opportunities and initiatives across the business.

**Education, Experience & Ability Requirements**
- Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Proven track record of working to tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access to set up and maintain spreadsheets and databases.

This is a permanent role within a small, capable and friendly team in South of the River in Naval Base. They offer flexible working hours and offer a day a week working from home once you are up to speed.
