Seeking an experienced Procurement Officer with WA Government experience, to join a team immediately
**Your new company**
A state government department based in East Perth are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join the Corporate Services division as soon as possible. In this role you will be required to work full-time hours, paid on a competitive hourly rate and initially engaged on a 6-month temporary contract.
**Your new role**
As the Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing:
- End-to-end procurement processes for low to medium value contracts
- Providing advice to internal and external stakeholders around government procurement processes and guidelines
- Liaising with potential suppliers, discussing their services and negotiating rates and terms as required
- Supporting the Senior Procurement Officer with adhoc procurement and contract management tasks as required
- Prepare contract extensions and variations in consultation with stakeholders
- Preparing draft procurement and contract management plans
- Conducting tender evaluations
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role you must demonstrate previous experience in a procurement position, working within the WA state government sector. In addition, you will have:
- Excellent communication skills with confidence in delivering advice around procurement processes
- Fantastic organisation skills
- Advanced written communication skills with the ability to prepare professional procurement documentation
