Seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to work in a major Government department, for an immediate start
**Your new company**
A major State Government department is seeking an experienced Procurement/Purchasing specialist, to join the Procurement team on an initial temporary engagement. You will be required to work full-time hours, and ideally able to commence immediately in the role.
**Your new role**
As an experienced Procurement Officer you will be responsible a variety of duties, including:
- Operating and maintaining a Contract Management Module (CMM) system and contract data information for analysis, planning, support and audit purposes
- Providing advice and assistance in contract management with regards to contract extensions, variations and replacement contracts and assists with the contract analysis and expenditure reporting
- Raising/Creation of and / or amendments to Requisition and/or Purchase Orders
- Monitoring and reporting on the Contract Purchase Orders and assisting with the related procurements
- Creation of and/or amendments to Contracts, publishing to Vendor Panels as required
- Receipting invoices for payment
- General adhoc procurement and administrative tasks to support the wider team
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role, you will display previous experience within a similar role across Procurement, Purchasing or Contracts. In addition you have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, particularly with negotiations when required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines at once
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
**What you'll get in return**
You will be engaged on an initial temporary engagement, working full-time hours with flexible arrangements offered. You will be based in an office central to Perth CBD, with convenient access to public transport and parking.
