The Policy and Statutory Planning division is responsible for developing and managing the policy framework to support Queensland's land use planning and development assessment system.
The division focuses on driving creative and innovative approaches for improving and enhancing the regulatory and legislative environment and policy settings for land use planning, through ongoing policy programs and initiatives; and engaging with stakeholders and other users of the system.Your contribution
- Contribute to the leadership, management and direction of the team, the division and Planning Group
- Influence the development of land use planning strategies, policies, project plans and programs aligned with the policy cycle, and deliver expected outputs and products to a high quality and in a timely manner
- Provide advice and develop solutions to issues relating to land use planning policy and planning legislation
- Coordinate and prepare high quality correspondence, submissions, presentations, briefs and reports on complex and sensitive planning and policy issues
- Actively and regularly engage with relevant stakeholders, including within Planning Group and the department and with other state agencies, levels of government, industry and the community
- Work collaboratively as a member of Planning Group to achieve strategic, organisational and client objectives
- Mentor, coach and develop staff to provide expert advice on land use planning policy issues and the interpretation and development of legislation and subordinate legislation
- Actively contribute to fostering a team environment and positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work and understand their role in the success of business outcomes.
