You will establish Groupon as an integral marketing partner of top local businesses across Australia. Establishing the relationship with our business partners, your role as a Business Development Consultant is to highlight the best possible opportunities for our subscribers and look after Merchants that are contacting us to feature their business. **Day-to-Day Responsibilities** - Identify, engage, consult and close new local business owners across a wide spectrum of categories (including food, drink, health, beauty etc) on the benefits of featuring their business with Groupon - Devising marketing features that will assist merchants to increase and calibrate customer traffic and closing these deals over the phone - Own the full sales cycle from prospecting, cold calling and pipeline management - A positive and consultative approach, combined with an unyielding passion to succeed - Passionate and fearless in a sales environment and loves the thrill of the sales chase - Enthusiastic selling over the phone and comfortable cold calling various types of businesses - Strong negotiation and consultation skills - Captive learner, excited about the opportunity to develop consultative sales skills - Prior Sales (inbound / outbound) or Customer Service experience not essential but highly advantageous - An outgoing personality and a great sense of humour **What you get in return** - Experience working for one of the fastest growing ecommerce companies in the world with unparalleled career opportunities - Comprehensive induction to the business at our Sydney HQ and ongoing training - Work in our awesome break-out area, maybe having a massage or even chowing down on the free fruit, breakfast and drinks that we provide for all our employees - we're also a very social bunch, and we love to keep fit If you're enthusiastic and driven and looking to start your sales career or develop your sales experience in the fastest growing global ecommerce company, we'd love to hear from you
