In the role of Technical Services Officer you will assist divisional staff in the preparation of high-quality Geographic Information System (GIS) work, and the reproduction of technical products for inclusion in Policy, Planning and Investment (PPI) projects. You will also be responsible for the provision of efficient and effective technical support to the Corridor Protection Services (CPS) Team.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Provide GIS, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and support to PPI staff.
- Create a variety of maps and diagrams for key clients, involving the processing of raw digital graphic data into GIS and CADD formats.
- Analyse and interpret GIS data to support staff and clients on GIS matters, and prepare quality supporting reports, documentation and presentations (using paper and digital mapping products).
- Maintain technical costing record and job register database, ensuring information is accurate and accessible to appropriate staff.
- Develop and maintain networks with colleagues and clients, facilitating the development of innovative solutions to work related issues.
- Undertake projects individually or as part of a team, ensuring action plans are established, monitored and executed within set timeframes and stakeholders are informed of progress.
- Perform duties as required to assist the CPS team in meeting its business obligations.
- Embrace training and development opportunities that are identified as necessary to the achievement of work unit priorities.
- Proactively engage in contemporary human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety, ethical behaviours and personal performance agreement.

This role reports to the Manager (Corridor Protection Services).
