Logistics Supervisor Temp role located in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Hays are proud to be partnered with this global company that import the highest quality raw ingredients and distributes to the major supermarkets around ANZ. They are seeking an Import Logistics Coordinator to assist them for a three-month temp position located in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Your new role

As the Import Logistics Coordinator for this company, you will be responsible for;
- Ensuring shipment of contracts within agreed shipping period.
- Maintaining relationships and communication with shipping lines, warehouse and customs broker.
- Liaising with warehouse and QA manager on any potential damaged goods / issues with raw products, documenting the process and advising insurance assessors, Shipping lines, 3PL Providers and suppliers. Insurance claims for damaged product/s and follow up on credit notes from suppliers and/or 3PL if applicable. Ensuring shipping documentation, contracts, certificates etc are correct and compliant prior to acceptance and payment.
- Ensuring invoices from freight companies, customs brokers and 3PL providers are correct prior to acceptance of payment.
- Negotiation of freight rates - ensuring the company receives competitive rates.
- Maintaining the data integrity and accuracy of the Forward Arrival Data Base and JIWA software.
- Regularly monitor shipping ports globally to ascertain any potential issues and seek alternative shipping arrangements if required.
- Management accurately and timely entry of all recently arrived stock/s into JIWA database and advise internal stakeholders.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role as the Import Logistics Coordinator you will have;
- A team player mindset.
- Import experience within FMCG preferable.
- High levels of organisation and time management skills.
- High attention to detail regarding documents.
- Initiative and can-do mindset.
- SAP knowledge.
