Transport Operations Supervisor position located Inner-Western suburbs of Melbourne.

This family owned transport company has been operating for over a century, they are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to join their collaborative and dynamic team located in the Inner-Western suburbs of Melbourne.

Your new role

As the Transport Operations Supervisor of this dynamic team, day to day you will;
- Schedule transport runs to comply with Customers loading policies and guidelines using the Freightrack System.
- Schedule transport runs to comply with Government policies and guidelines.
- Schedule cleaning requirements & manage cleaning register/certificates.
- DIFOT and reporting KPI’s.
- Occupational health and safety.
- Ensure basic Fatigue Management (BFM) is complied with where applicable.
- Ensure all aspects of the company’s compliance are achieved in required timeframes.
- Ensure all staff have received adequate training and understand the content.
- Ensure fleet management and maintenance occurs in line with policies and practices.
- Management of the reporting of all incidents/near misses.
- Complete monthly vehicle inspections.
- Ensure customer site compliance is in line with the organization’s procedures.
- Maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics operation.
- Maximize utilization of Drivers and work hours.
- Roster Driver training (multi skilling).
- Appearance (front line with customer) and PPE compliance.
- Provide feedback on driver performance in line with scheduling expectation.
- Driver compliance with paperwork and recording requirements including POD collection.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful as the Transport Operations Supervisor within this role you will have;
- Excellent communication & relationship building skills.
- Computer literate and competent in the use of Outlook, Excel and Word documents.
- Strong leadership skills.
- The ability to identify and drive efficiencies within a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a sound transport background, with good general transport knowledge.
- Must be proficient in understanding and enforcing Fatigue Management, Chain of Responsibility and Speed legislation.
- Excellent time management skills.
