**About the role**

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our team at the Illawarra Family Medical Centre in Wollongong, NSW. This is a part-time position, offering flexible hours to suit your lifestyle. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our medical practice.

**What you'll be doing**
- Greeting and welcoming patients, and managing patient enquiries and bookings.
- Accurately scheduling appointments and managing the practice's appointment system.
- Handling patient payments, processing claims and maintaining financial records.
- Ensuring the reception area is well-organized and presentable at all times.
- Providing administrative support to the medical team as required.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding data protection policies.

**What we're looking for**
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within the healthcare industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Proficient in using medical practice management software and other relevant computer programs.
- A caring and empathetic attitude, with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of our patients.
- A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- A motivated individual who shows initiative and likes to keep busy.
- The availability to start shifts at 7:00am or finish shifts at 7:00pm.

Pay: $25.22 - $31.23 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Medical admin: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
