Clayton, Australia PPG Full time

As a **Technical Officer**, you will be based in **Clayton, Victoria,** and report to the Group Leader - Factory Support. You will provide technical expertise to manufacturing and sales to support existing products and use this expertise to help develop and introduce new products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with the production team to resolve batch manufacturing issues (technical and colour issues).
- Formula cost reduction work.
- Maintain and improve existing products.
- Work with the Sales team, Analytical lab, and Application Specialist to investigate and resolve customer product complaints.
- Providing technical advice to production, sales, marketing, and customers.
- Evaluation of competitive products.
- Conducting testing and verification of alternative sources of raw materials.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a chemistry major with at least 2 years’ experience in the surface coatings industry gained in product development and technical service **OR** at least 8 years’ experience in a technical development environment.
- Understanding of paint technology and paint formulation.
- Market knowledge and manufacturing process experience.
- Practical knowledge of SAP systems.
- Report writing skills.
