We're looking for a** Technical Officer** to join the team based in Clayton and you will report to Group Leader - Customer Technical Support. You will provide technical expertise to manufacturing and sales to support existing products and to use this expertise to help develop and introduce new products. You will also improve plans so as to improve efficiency and lower costs. **Main Responsibilities** - Develop, produce, and test new products. - Under guidance and management, maintain existing products. - Providing technical advice and sales aids to sales, marketing, and customers - Conducting product demonstrations to customers and field trials - Evaluation of competitive products - Conducting testing and verification of alternate sources of raw materials and issuing of specifications. - Reduction of formula process times - Achieving product quality at minimum cost **Qualifications** - Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a chemistry major (required) - 2 or more years' experience in the surface coatings industry gained in product development and technical service. **About us**: **PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD** **The PPG Way** Every day at PPG: **We partner with customers to create mutual value.** We are insightful, dedicated, and proactive.
