Due to exponential growth of our organisation, we now have an opportunity for a **General Manager Energy and Digital Management** to join our Operations and Service Delivery division through a period of rapid transformation.
**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will participate as a member of the Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) Senior Leadership Team, managing the effectiveness of the Energy Management System, for head end cyber security and enabling available operational networks that comply with technical requirements compliant with the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), and the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act.
In this strategic role, you will develop and implement operational strategies to meet Powerlink’s current and future Enterprise Architecture requirements for the head end OT environment to enable high resiliency and availability of the Energy Management Systems (EMS), Network Management Systems (NMS), High Voltage (HV) and telecommunications networks state-wide.
With an emphasis on building and imbedding high-performance culture and capability, you will consistently drive and role-model key leadership behaviours.
**In addition, you will**:
- Lead collaboration and co-design complementary synergies with Corporate IT group functions to ensure Powerlink’s business requirements are met to deliver effective network systems support.
- Plan and drive the development of EDM staff engagement by working within the organisational training and development frameworks, to ensure that the workforce plan and internal capability and skills meet future state requirements.
- Oversee the provision of a broad range of technical expertise to the business including technical assistance for routine and emergency work, investigations, monitoring of plant and performance reporting.
- Provide strategic and operational advice to improve business objectives in project design, delivery and performance of the network.
- Drive improvement in safety through design and provide technical advice to reduce potential safety risks.
- Drive effective and commercial 24/7 support to the Network including enhancing field based and remote decision making during events.
- Ensure organisational governance, compliance, and assurance requirements are satisfied in the delivery of the group’s operating activities.
- Lead the coordination and provision of a 24x7 emergency response management in relation to the EDM group functions.
**About You**:
You will ideally have degree qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electrical Engineering, or have demonstrated extensive applied experience working within this field. You value the importance of leading collaboratively, effectively integrating with other groups to achieve Powerlink’s strategic goals by adopting a longer-term perspective, balancing current and future goals, making time for reflection, and leading, coaching and developing managers to do the same.
- Demonstrated ability to drive safety strategies, policies and practices, demonstrating personal engagement with safety by proactively ensuring areas of risk are identified and mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into operational plans, ensuring that planning demonstrates measurable, cost-effective delivery of key outcomes and clear alignment to strategic goals.
- Demonstrated ability to balance commercial outcomes with technical outcomes to achieve fit for purpose solutions.
- Demonstrated track record in keeping abreast with technological changes and a proven ability to lead highly technical discussion with experienced personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage network events and provide timely decision making in a complex environment.
