**About The Role**

In your new role as Grid Engineering Manager, you’ll be accountable for overseeing all engineering related matters in relation to grid connections and network planning for Origins future generation and storage needs. You’ll own the undertaking of highly complex assessments of grid connections as well as ongoing strategic review; making recommendations and being involved within the decision-making process of selecting energy sites and projects.

Your natural ability to lead, manage, and engage internal and external stakeholders will support you with collaborating and recruiting expertise across the Origin business where the skills and capabilities of the individual will add to project solutions.

**Key Responsibilities will include**:

- Select, manage and take responsibility for key specialist consultants in relation to grid modelling including Generator Performance Standard packages, Marginal Loss Factor assessment, Short Circuit Ratios and Constraints analysis for multiple projects concurrently;
- Develop complex technical scopes of work for consultant engagements and manage the engagement of such works including delivery being accountable to the recommendations derived;
- Accountable to manage connection feasibility studies and technical assessments to make recommendations on connection matters for development project decision making to optimise cost, risk, and performance for the proposed development projects;
- Lead, and undertake complex engagements including negotiation with state based Authorities;
- Undertake the role of Subject Matter Expert for grid connection, National Electricity Market Integration Plan, and future grid connection options having the accountability to approve technical positions;
- Identifying and reviewing emergent connection opportunities in terms of risk and performance by performing detailed analysis of the current and potential future grid.

**Is this you?**

**Your resume should be able to demonstrate**:

- Tertiary Engineering degree with solid experience working with the Australian Electricity and Transmission market
- Significant experience in connection of new assets to the National Electricity Market; specifically regulatory matters impacting new connections
- Demonstrated capability in managing new connection processes from a technical and management level
- In depth understanding of the AEMO Integrated System Plan, TNSP Plans, State Based Authorities and related documentation
- Ability to travel for business purposes.
