We are seeking a **Windows Administrator** to join our Business Technology & Programs (BTP) division to support and maintain the AV datacentre and server environments.

This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at either our Blackburn or Ballarat office in line with our hybrid working model.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Lead Systems Engineer, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

- Support and enhance server infrastructure operations
- Provide second and third level support for infrastructure systems and services to meet agreed SLAs
- Administration of local and domain security accounts, policies and procedures, and modification to security principles
- Completion of technical systems design solutions and specifications against standards and policies
- Maintain existing relationships with hardware and software service providers

**About you**

To be considered for this position you will possess:

- A degree or relevant industry certification with proven subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience
- Certification at Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) level
- Certification at AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate level
- Certification at VMware Certified Professional Administrator level

You're managing a **VMware** setup with one vCenter and five ESXi hosts in a production cluster, plus two VMs on a separate standalone host. To update the vCentre and ESXi hosts with mínimal downtime.
- What do you do to prepare? (e.g. backups, scheduling, communication)
- How do you carry out the upgrade for both the cluster and the standalone host?
- What checks would you do afterwards, and what do you do if something went wrong?

You have two servers in different **Azure**subscriptions that need to connect over a specific port, but the connection isn't working. Each server is in its own virtual network and subnet, both have their OS firewalls on, and you've set up NSGs between them.
- How would you determine which ports are open or blocked, and where the traffic is being stopped?
- What steps do you take in Azure? (eg. checking NSGs, security rules, using Network Watcher)
- What do you check inside the operating system? (eg. firewall rules or using tools like netstat or PowerShell)

A **Windows** Server has lost its connection to Active Directory, and you can't log in with domain credentials using RDP. The local admin password in AD has changed, and the old local admin credentials don't work. This issue has been there for a while.
- How do you troubleshoot and regain access to the server?
- Once you're back in, what steps would you take to fix the AD connection problem?
