**About the Role**:
As the Quality System Improvement Officer, you will play a vital role in advancing our business's vision through enhancing The Institute's quality culture maturity and maintaining our quality and risk management systems. Working collaboratively with managers and staff, you'll identify improvement opportunities while actively participating in quality system activities, including internal auditing, nonconformity management, and administration of our electronic quality management system.

In this position, you'll contribute to business improvement initiatives and support our quality and risk training program. Your ability to effectively communicate specialised knowledge relating to quality and risk management systems will be essential as you help drive our organisation toward operational excellence.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to, maintain and improve the integrated Quality and Risk Management System ensuring it complies with the VIFM Quality Framework NATA accreditation, ISO9001 certification, TGA cGMP, VGRMF and other regulatory and legislative requirements.Conduct internal audits and facilitate external audits NATA, TGA cGMP and ISO9001 requirements and other regulatory and legislative standards with a continuous improvement focus.
- Provide regular reports detailing analysis and evaluation of quality system activities and provide recommendations to senior management detailing issues, risks and trends.
- Prepare and analyse management reports and incident reports; coordinate and monitor the implementation of the recommended improvements in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Manage and conduct appropriate investigations using process mapping and root cause analysis tools to address quality and business-related issues (including complaints) impacting on the provision of services and products of the Institute.
- Manage the Institute's Quality Assurance Program including the evaluation and reporting of results.
- Facilitate business improvement projects both within Quality and Improvement and across the Institute
- Administer, manage and update the electronic quality management system (including document control, non-conformity management and approved suppliers)

**Key Qualifications and Attributes**
- A tertiary degree and/or post-graduate qualifications in a medical science-related or quality management discipline.
- Experience working in a medical or forensic laboratory environment and/or TGA licensed manufacturing environment in a quality and/or risk-based role.
- Broad working knowledge of quality management systems with preference given to NATA ISO17025 and ISO15189, TGA Code of Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO9001, as well as an understanding of the business improvement frameworks and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in non-conformance management, investigation and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting and reporting of scientific, technical and business audits.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate quality and risk management system training programs.
- Lead Auditor training and experience would be an advantage.
