We operate as a service-driven legal professional practice and strive for excellence in this competitive environment. In all aspects of our operations, we aim to role model and live by our values: Responsiveness, Integrity, Insight, Collaboration and Excellence.
About the branch
The Corporate Services branch plays a crucial role in enabling VGSO's overall success by providing essential support and strategic guidance to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Balancing an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of the public sector, along with the requirements of operating in a competitive legal services environment, the branch delivers proactive, effective and efficient services to VGSO's internal and external clients.
Through its work, the Corporate Services branch fosters a cohesive and supportive environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and a client-centric approach.
Functionally, the following business areas are included within the Corporate Services branch:
- Office of the Chief Operating Officer (Strategy and Governance)
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Technology and Knowledge Management
- Client Insights and Communications
About the role
As a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Systems & Process Analyst your role will be supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis team and the wider Corporate Services branch in delivering seamless client service to VGSO's legal branches. You will play a key role in ensuring our internal practice management and finance system, Elite 3E, is used to its full potential.
As a key driver of transformation and innovation, you will work closely with stakeholders across finance, legal and technology teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and enhance system capabilities. Your work will contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring VGSO's finance systems are aligned with business needs and future-ready.
In this role you will:
- Lead gap analysis and process mapping across finance systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for Elite 3E and related applications, including enhancements and integrations.
- Act as a liaison between Finance and Legal Branches to ensure system use aligns with operational requirements.
- Support project management activities for system upgrades, including change management and training delivery.
- Maintain financial control frameworks and contribute to reporting improvements that enhance transparency and profitability insights.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative Senior Finance Systems & Process Analyst who brings:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within a government or legal services environment.
- Strong understanding of finance systems, billing technologies, and legal record/accounting platforms, preferably with exposure to Elite 3E.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A proactive, client-focused approach with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Adaptability and openness to change in a dynamic and evolving environment.
About the successful candidate
You are a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance systems, ideally within a government or legal services environment. You bring a deep understanding of billing technologies, accounting systems, and automated processes, and you're passionate about driving change and improving performance.
Your communication skills allow you to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and you're known for your proactive approach to problem-solving. You manage your time effectively, pay close attention to detail, and consistently deliver high-quality work. Most importantly, you bring a positive attitude and a commitment to excellent client service.
Benefits
VGSO offers an inclusive, collegiate and collaborative work environment where you will be well-supported and mentored to develop your knowledge. You will also be given excellent career opportunities to progress and develop within the organisation.
VGSO embraces flexibility and recognises the importance of work-life balance. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing employees to spend half of their time working remotely and the other half in the office.
