**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Workforce Australia for Individuals Division is responsible for managing and delivering online and tailored services for individuals, including those on income support. Staff interact with clients through the full length of their employment pathway, from their first interaction with our services.
While reporting to the Assistant Secretary, the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing high level support to the Assistant Secretary and the Branch, managing multiple priorities in a high performing branch in a complex and fast-paced environment.
The Workforce Australia for Individuals Division has three Executive Assistant roles that need to be filled in the following branches:
- The Access and Participation Branch is responsible for the operational policy in relation to participant eligibility, referrals, and transfers, and for the operation and design of participant assessment and participation, mutual obligation requirements and the Targeted Compliance Framework.
- The Activities and Experience Branch is responsible for the operational policy, guidelines, performance, and program assurance for activities including Work for the Dole, Employability Skills Training, Voluntary Work, Career Transition Assistance as well as policy related to Workforce Australia Online.
- The Strategic Program Office is an Employment and Workforce Group embedded capability to deliver enterprise-wide strategy and transformation, future systems development and funding opportunities, NPP and business case development and program and project management functions to ensure successful delivery of key project work and enhance the Department’s digital service offer.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
As an Executive Assistant you will work cooperatively across the Branch/Group and with other executive support staff.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and manage appointments for the Assistant Secretary, including scheduling meetings, coordination requests and collation of meeting papers.
- Organise travel and accommodation logistics, prepare travel itineraries and acquit credit card and travel expenses.
- Answer all incoming calls, general enquiries and assist across the Branch as required.
- Monitor incoming correspondence for the Assistant Secretary, liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders as required, including senior executives and all levels of departmental staff to ensure deadlines are met
