The Events Lead is responsible for managing and developing a varied events calendar that our community look forward to each year. The City of Tea Tree Gully has a clear direction for a thriving community with a quality lifestyle that values its people and natural environment. Our well-known events program helps to bring our community together and engage our residents, visitors and businesses.

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven, creative and experienced event professional to join our team and elevate opportunities to bring our community together and activate our City.

Reporting to the Manager, Customer and Communication, the incumbent will lead, coordinate and manage Councils’ varied and diverse event calendar. The role will also include oversight of our event sponsorship and activation programs.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in event coordination across a variety of event types. You will also:

- Hold relevant qualifications in events, communications, public relations, or marketing (or equivalent experience)
- Have proven experience managing various projects simultaneously
- Have strong project management experience, and have coordinated various components of an event (i.e. procurement, event design, registration)
- Proven capacity to be able to deliver a project from conception to completion
- Enjoy working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Hold a current Driver’s License

It is essential that the successful applicant has a current DHS Working with Children check or the willingness to obtain one.

Your main responsibilities will include producing and leading the operational aspects, and creative components for Council’s high profile and large-scale events:

- Contribute to the strategic development of existing and new events,
- Evaluate and report on our events, including participant feedback and improvements to help us improve our customer experience,
- Work in collaboration, and provide guidance to, our internal teams towards execution of an event.
- Coordinate the engagement of contractors, suppliers, performers and artists involved in the delivery of the event including the supervision of these parties, and event staff onsite (permanent staff, casual staff, volunteers)
