The Commercial Analyst will be responsible for liaising and facilitating Product Fee and Integrity Agreements that Betfair has in place with various sports and racing bodies. This includes proactively sharing key metrics and data with the sports and racing bodies, establishing strong relationships for Betfair to leverage. The role is analytically based, and will also involve discovering, delivering and embedding commercial initiatives across the business to support the growth of various racing and sports products.

- Maintaining strong relationships with sports and racing bodies
- Owning the analytics and insights on the performance of the Exchange to help inform commercial pricing decisions and presentations to sports and racing bodies
- Reviewing and proactively assessing alternative product fee models that maximise value for Betfair and ensuring strategic alignment with sports and racing bodies, as well as Betfair’s pricing structure
- Engaging internal stakeholders to support the promotion of various sports and racing products via commercial initiatives
- Owning the lodgement of monthly (or as required) product fee returns and reports, including preparing the relevant reporting and owning the reconciliation process
- Assisting with monthly financial analysis and reporting as well as budgeting and forecasting, with a strong focus on Betfair’s overall trading performance as well as individual racing and sporting code performance
- Supporting Betfair’s Pricing and Marketing team’s initiatives and processes
- Supporting racing and sporting bodies annual and ad hoc audit processes
- Preparing and delivering other regular and ad hoc reports required by the business to satisfy internal and external reporting and compliance requirements

- Someone who has an incredible understanding of numbers and a drive to maximise revenue
- A strong communicator with excellent stakeholder and influencing skills
- A naturally inquisitive mind who respectfully challenges people and processes in order to improve
- Someone who has a good understanding of Betfair’s trading performance
- Someone who can build and write solid business cases and proposals capable of being presented to internal and external stakeholders
- Someone who will contribute to making Betfair the ‘Best place to work’

**But there is a catch. To be in the running for this great role, you should have**:

- A relevant tertiary degree with a numerical and/or business component (preferred)
- Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong or intermediate SQL skills, in order to retrieve data (preferred)
- Strong analytical skills
- A passion for sport and/or racing
- Knowledge of wagering or the industry (preferred)
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of numeracy
- Strong data and manipulation skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Understanding of the uniqueness of the Betfair Betting Exchange
- Experience with Tableau (or similar data visualisation software, preferred)
