The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.
This Directorate is responsible for the ongoing delivery of the City’s sustainability program, as well as contributing heavily to the City of Stirling’s vibrant local economy, liveable neighbourhoods and thriving communities.
**About the Position**
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Active Transport Officer to join our Engineering Services team. This role is crucial in supporting the implementation of the City's footpath program, cycling strategy, and other active transport projects. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and the public, to ensure the successful delivery of these projects.
**Key Responsibilities**
The duties of the Active Transport Officer will include but are not limited to:
- Respond to customer and ratepayer enquiries regarding infrastructure issues.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and other Council business units on design projects.
- Conduct onsite assessments and inspections, including photographic records.
- Prepare parking plans and design solutions for the transport team.
- Investigate and design selected links for the annual footpath program.
- Provide ongoing design services and advice during community engagement and construction phases.
- Liaise with Operations to obtain cost estimates for projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
**About You**
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent competency.
- Valid White Card and current Driver’s Licence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and community engagement experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and advanced skills in AutoCAD.
- Understanding of occupational safety and health requirements.
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act and technical standards related to traffic management design is desirable.

This permanent full-time position is a Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attract a salary from $85,751 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
