**About Us**

The Planning and Development Directorate is responsible for the sustainable and responsible development of the City’s neighbourhoods - both residential and commercial. This high performing team deals with a wide range of interesting planning matters to help shape the future of the City for over 243,000 residents and visitors.

**About the Position**

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Project Officer to join our Planning Compliance team on a maximum term basis for 12 months. This role involves undertaking investigations, inspections, and correspondence related to the planting or retention of trees associated with development.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct investigations and inspections related to tree planting and retention.
- Raise awareness within the community about the benefits of tree planting and retention.
- Ensure compliance with the Residential Design Codes of Western Australia.
- Develop and implement compliance programs.
- Assist in preparing and implementing communication and marketing strategies to promote tree planting and retention.
- Contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives and the delivery of the Service Plan.
- Adhere to safe working practices and promote the City’s Risk Management processes.

**About You**
- Relevant tertiary qualification or progression towards, or relevant demonstrated experience.
- Experience in compliance investigations and actions (desirable).
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to equal employment opportunity, occupational health & safety, and customer service practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- National Police Clearance (under 3 months).
- Current Driver’s Licence.

This temporary full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from **$96,731.43 to $101,823.62 gross pro rata per annum** plus superannuation.
