**About the Regional Transport Division**
Victoria is excited to be confirmed as hosts of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. In a Commonwealth Games first, Victoria 2026 will introduce a new multi-city model, bringing global sport to five regional hubs: Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, Gippsland, and Shepparton. Each hub will have its own athlete and technical official village, and together they will deliver a multi-sport programme in world-class regional sporting venues.'
Hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games will create a legacy for Victoria that extends well beyond the competition period. This will include significant investment in community infrastructure in regional Victoria, including transport and world-class sporting facilities.
DTPs Regional Transport (RT) Division sits within the Transport Services Group. The RT Division is accountable for providing for the development and delivery of all transport with Regional Victoria
**About the Role**
**Position Outcomes**
- Stakeholder Management - championed close collaboration with key DoT stakeholders. Provided expert guidance to the Executive Director and Directors across the Regional transport portfolio on Commonwealth Games related matters, resulting in high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.Leading stakeholder engagement - Leads stakeholder engagement to adequately inform sound integrated transport decisions. Champions the importance of partnership through co-creation approaches to influence stakeholders through a formal/informal engagement process to ensure outcomes that deliver on technical, Government and Community requirements.
- Transport Planning - This leadership role will oversee transport network and project development activities for Victoria 2026, assisting with strategic direction and cultivating effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving - Is solutions focused, and utilises a broad range of technical expertise to work across government and at senior levels to develop and deliver sustainable solutions for Victoria 2026
- Flexibility & Adaptability - Capacity to design integrated transport solutions to existing regional network issues, while proactively solving emerging Victoria 2026 network interdependency issues.
- Effective People Leadership - has provided effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement - ensured innovative and best practice solutions are at the core of DoT's Commonwealth Games transport solution.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations.
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- Extensive relevant work experience in a policy role within government
**Desirable**
- Comprehensive understanding of the transport network and can operate in the strategic space
- Relevant experience coordinating and/or authoring documents for a wide range of audiences
- A relevant tertiary degree would be well regarded.
- Experience managing a team of professionals across multiple skills sets and expertise.
