**Transport Services** is a Group within the Department of Transport & Planning, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians.
**Regional Transport** is a Division of Transport Services and is responsible for delivering a better transport experience connecting regional communities, businesses and visitors.
**About the Role**
The Transport Planner will support the Department’s regional Transport Integration team’s role in shaping the future transport system to deliver a prosperous, connected and liveable Victoria. The role will work collaboratively across the transport portfolio, other government departments and agencies (e.g. Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, VLine, VicTrack), Regional Partnerships and local government to advance integrated land use and transport planning in regional Victoria. This role will ensure the transport system delivers on the intention of the Transport Integration Act. Particularly ensuring users are at the centre of planning and that planning is done in an integrated manner across all modes and with land use planning.

**Your outcomes and accountabilties,**
- Provided the required advice and analyses into planning for new projects, understanding the full network-wide and whole-of-life implications of the projects.
- Worked with the Transport Integration team to engage with regional industries, portfolio agencies, government agencies, local government, local communities, freight and logistics companies and other transport and industry stakeholders to ensure successful integrated transport planning occurs and transport issues are effectively managed.
- Prepared briefings, reports, discussion papers and presentations with well-informed recommendations on transport strategy and network planning.
- Worked closely with other parts of the Transport Services Group, the department and relevant agencies across government to integrate transport planning with land use planning and government policy.
- Met objectives and timelines in the planning, coordination and delivery of regional transport projects, events and program.
- Helped deliver the Department’s Inclusion Strategy and other initiatives for improved economic and social outcomes by liaising with Aboriginal communities.
- Monitored and provided advice on emerging transport trends and ensure that transport plans are kept afresh and relevant in the face of changes to transport demand, emerging technology, and changing social preference.

- Project management experience, including for public transport and technology projects
- Public transport experience, either directly or overseeing activities of a service contractor
- Experience interacting with contractors on site and managing site issues
- A relevant tertiary qualification in transportation engineering, construction management or project management is highly regarded
