**The Role**

The roles of an APS6 Technical Officer - Marine occupation in Defence include the following
- Perform complex technical marine technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
- Accountable for exercising assigned technical authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Assess technical packages including scoping, planning and reviewing of packages and provide recommendations for consideration.
- Assess technical packages, reports, processes and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into marine technical activities and tasks.
- Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment.
- Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.

**About our Team**
RMC-E is playing a lead role implementing Plan Galileo’s reform program for surface fleet sustainment. Realising this will ensure Defence can support the significant increase in a complex fleet of vessels generated through Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. It will enhance Navy’s agility and ability to surge from strategic locations across Australia, particularly into the Pacific. Development of sovereign sustainment capability is key, so Defence has the workforce, supply chains and infrastructure to support the future fleet.

The team will manage the RMP, working together to coordinating, scheduling and delivering maintenance for Navy vessels and build resilient local and regional supply chains. RMC-E will contribute to delivery of continuous sustainment of the complex naval capability resulting from Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and ensure Navy responds to changing operational requirements, providing assurance, audit and compliance of contractors and reports on performance, opportunity and risk, in addition to developing industry networks.
