**The Role**
The APS6 Work Instruction Assurance Officer, taking guidance from the EL1 Maintenance Demand Operations Manager, will support delivery of RMC-E services that contribute to the maintenance of the Royal Australian Navy vessels.
The WI Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring Work Instructions and related technical artefacts are authored to the correct standard in accordance with approved policy and processes. They are to monitor the applicable Maintenance Management System and Supplementary Defect Lists for new tasks and liaise with stakeholders to prioritise technical authoring. They will also be responsible for reviewing technical data (such as Engineering Changes) inserted into work packages prior to acceptance by RMC-E.
The WI Assurance Officer will support projects across the RMC network to drive standardisation and improvement of maintenance data. They will support NSSG and Industry partners to interpret technical data and develop work packages for visiting platforms, including international vessels, in support of RMC objectives.
**About our Team**
RMC-E is playing a lead role implementing Plan Galileo’s ambitious reform program for surface fleet sustainment. Realising this will ensure Defence can support the significant increase in a complex fleet of vessels generated through Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. It will enhance Navy’s agility and ability to surge from strategic locations across Australia, particularly into the Pacific. Development of sovereign sustainment capability is key, so Defence has the workforce, supply chains and infrastructure to support the future fleet.
The team will manage the Regional Maintenance Provider (RMP), working together to coordinate and schedule maintenance for Navy vessels and build resilient local and regional supply chains. RMC-E will contribute to delivery of continuous sustainment of the complex naval capability resulting from Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and ensure Navy responds to changing operational requirements, providing assurance, audit and compliance of contractors and reports on performance, opportunity and risk, in addition to developing industry networks.

- The ability to assess technical packages including scoping, planning and reviewing of packages and provide recommendations for consideration.
- The ability to assess technical packages, reports, processes and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
