**The Roles**
The People Branch, within Corporate and Enabling Services, is responsible for delivering strategic and operational human resource (HR) services to the department. Key functions of the branch include providing:

- Workforce strategies;
- Capability, learning and development;
- Recruitment and Entry Level Programs; and
- Policy advice on employment matters in compliance with relevant legislation, APS policy and departmental practices.

The Workforce Planning and Analytics team provides advice and support to stakeholders and senior leaders within and outside the department, on a range of HR data, workforce planning and organisational management issues. We are seeking to fill the following roles in our team.

Organisational Management
Support the management of the department’s organisational structure and employee positions, while working with business areas and relevant areas of Corporate to coordinate and implement the change.

Workforce Analytics and Planning
Use your HR metrics and data skills to support the preparation of data, reports and analyses using range of HR data sources to support Workforce Planning and strategic HR initiatives. Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of personnel data while providing actionable insights.

Note: Whilst the location for this role has been advertised as Canberra (ACT), other locations may be considered.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 Organisational Management Officer may include:

- Action organisational management tasks ensuring high client satisfaction.
- Undertake regular position data verification processes to ensure consistent high-quality data accuracy.
- Collaborate and manage relationships with other HR teams, finance, shared services provider (SDO) and other relevant teams to achieve work area and agency goals, including maintaining, and modifying position and organisational structures in the HR Systems, SAP and HUB.
- Assist with managing restructures in the HR system as necessary by working with a range of stakeholders to ensure a timely implementation while maintaining a high level of data quality.
- Contribute to project work across the section and branch, including collaboration and teamwork with others to achieve results.

Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 HR Data Officer may also include:

- Collect, collate, and prepare HR data using various sources consistent with APS-wide methods for reporting workforce metrics.
- Ensure the reported HR data and metrics are accurate, up-to-date, and adhere to Australian Privacy Principles.
- Prepare and release regular reports (Power BI dashboards) on key HR metrics to Senior Management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather data requirements to support new projects or address data requests.

Across both roles, responsibilities of the APS Level 5 may include:

- Undertaking human resources activities including providing accurate and timely advice
- Performing research and analysis and using judgement to make decisions
- Drafting correspondence, procedures, guidance and policies to a high standard
- Contributing to the management, delivery and monitoring of projects
- Providing high quality client services to internal and external stakeholders
- Identifying and implementing improvements to HR policy, systems, processes and other ways of working to improve outcomes and enhance our culture.
