**The Role**
The APS5 Establishment Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform complex establishment, position management, and transactional work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable for maintaining compliance with legislative frameworks and Defence policies, and must understand government decision-making processes.

The APS5 Establishment Officer is responsible for organising their workflow and for making independent decisions related to their area of responsibility. They are required to liaise extensively with stakeholders, ensure data quality, and provide timely procedural, clerical and administrative support to achieve team objectives. The primary data sources to support their work are PMKeyS Personnel Establishment data, and Force Element data sets in SAP Defence and Security solution (S/4HANA) as Defence introduces this system through the Enterprise Resource Planning transformation.

**About our Team**
The team at the Directorate of Force Structure - Army (DFS-A) is a dynamic, integrated and collaborative team that manages Army’s Organisational Fundamental Input to Capability (FIC). This encompasses the personnel, equipment, and disposition requirements of Army’s Force Structures. Army Force Structure requirements are informed and evaluated by the DFS-A team to enable planning of current and future establishment changes.

The DFS-A team exercises delegations on behalf of the Chief of Army to manage Army’s establishment. As ERP is introduced, DFS-A will also take on responsibility for Force Element management which is the central data node for the entire SAP Defence and Security solution. Effective business intelligence and analytics of the Force Element data controlled by DFS-A will be critical to supporting the Army Operating System.
- Assist in the resolution of Defence corporate HR information system position anomalies.
- Process and transact complex Establishment Variation Proposals (EVP) using Defence corporate HR information systems to meet agreed key performance indicators.
- Interrogate Defence corporate HR information systems to identify and resolve any data errors or inconsistencies.
- Compile establishment data reports.
- Liaise with key stakeholders on establishment and position management activities.
- Work collaboratively in a team-based environment and actively participate in team meetings to support the work area and team objectives.
- Be accountable for the accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others, and guide, mentor, and train less experienced employees.
