**ABOUT THE BRANCH AND TEAM**

The Human Resources (HR) Branch is responsible for strategic and operational human resource management activities including:

- Drafting, consulting, implementing and reviewing HR policies and procedures
- Employment-conditions advice and services
- Case management advice and support
- Work, health and safety, rehabilitation and workers compensation matters
- Recruitment, mobility and resource management
- Entry Level Programs
- SES Unit
- Workforce reporting and planning
- Enhancing organisational culture
- Diversity initiatives
- Capability development
- Performance management.

The Recruitment and Entry Level Programs team is responsible for the management and delivery of:

- The Department’s Operational Recruitment services, including advertising of vacancies and onboarding of APS employees and providing a range of recruitment advice and support
- Targeted project based recruiting, including stream (bulk) Recruitment
- Administration of the whole of Australian Government recruitment processes for the Australian Government Graduate Program (AGGP) Generalist and Accounting & Financial Management streams and Career Starter Program
- The Finance Graduate Program, including cohort pastoral care and the development program.
- SES Support.

These key deliverables are currently being managed across three sub-teams within the section, with cross-collaboration and all teams working closely to deliver our shared goals.

The sub-teams are:

- Recruitment Team (including operational, stream and Entry Level Program recruitment and SES Support)
- Entry Level Programs Management Team.

**ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITIES**

It is an exciting time to be in the Recruitment and Entry Level Programs team and we are seeking to fill various opportunities across the team.

As an APS4/5 HR Officer, key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Assist with the administration of Finance’s entry level program activities including scheduling of learning and development opportunities, induction program, completion ceremony and regular meetings
- Assist Recruitment Team Leader with leading the day-to day operations of the team, including managing the inbox, hotline and allocation of requests
- Support advertising and onboarding and liaise with clients and hiring managers
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including through the timely and accurate provision of Recruitment and/or entry level program advice
- Support learning and development needs of entry level program participants including assisting with procurement for external training providers
- Update and manage policies, procedures and strategies to support our Recruitment processes and entry level programs
- Monitor own workload and manage competing priorities
- Supervision of staff
- Contribute to team projects, planning, and suggestions for process improvements
- Participate in strategic recruitment conversations with hiring managers and panels to prepare them for successful recruiting
- Be agile with moving between tasks and monitor the Recruitment and Entry Level Program team’s phone lines and inboxes
- Tracking and analysing data and preparing and producing reports
- Quality assurance of offers and advertising, including reviewing and editing job descriptions.
- Assist with coordinating bulk/Stream recruitment and Surge activities.
