**About us**

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Vendor Engagement Specialist to join our Data and Tech, the Vendor Engagement Specialist will be responsible identifying key opportunities for driving value out of the data and technology vendor partnerships.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Provide expert knowledge of the vendor contract details to support the data and technology division.
- Undertake demand analysis to understand current and future demand for data and technology goods and services and advise stakeholders on contract management solutions
- Manage target milestones, successes and achievements against contract performance criteria.
- Manage variations and progress claims, prepare financial cost forecasts and monitor cash flow against contracts as required
- Drive and implement effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners
- Performing regular vendor audits across the Data and Technology division to ensure compliance with contract delivery and service level agreements.
- Developing a vendor scorecard that identifies vendor risk and performance.
- Using existing tooling to capture and maintain vendor details and contract information with accuracy.
- Understanding the emerging technology roadmap and how our vendor strategy aligns.
- Ensure that vendor contracts are current and any changes or amendments either by the vendor or business unit are actioned in a timely manner in liaison with procurement team.
- Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities whilst delivering and meeting critical deadlines.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

**About You**
- Demonstrated experience in vendor engagement including reviewing contracts and management of service level agreements (SLA’s).
- Ability to positively influence and negotiate to achieve business outcomes and cost savings through advanced vendor and supplier management techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with vendors, I and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong written communication skills including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex issues and risks in high level documentation including reports, briefings, business cases and service level agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of people to provide consistent, responsive and high-quality advice and project support.

**Highly Regarded**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICT procurement or vendor and contract management roles.
- Experience working in data and technology environment
- Experience and prior working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry and Regulatory Compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills, facilitating discussions regarding alternative solutions and approaches.
- This role will require a flexible individual, with high attention to detail, who demonstrates initiative and a willingness to 'get it done'.
