Purchasing & Stores Officer - Maintenance

We have an exciting new position to join our Maintenance team as a Purchasing & Stores Officer. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager this role completes all purchasing requirements for the engineering team at Tip Top Chullora and works closely with members of the maintenance department identifying requirements and sourcing components in a cost-effective manner that will maximise reliability through pushing for quality.
Purpose of the Role
- Ownership of the maintenance stores at the Chullora site - driving compliance in usage via CMMS and spot checks on a regular basis
- Responsible for coordinating and performing activities involved with purchasing a diverse range of electrical and mechanical parts, materials, and outside services
- Proactively identify and follow up on failures due to component quality and develop a solution with the relevant vendors
- Working with maintenance team in sourcing alternate parts for requirements for improvement
- Coordinates with reliability planner to ensure the correct materials and components are available for any planned works
- Assists Reliability Planner in administrative tasks to ensure proper records maintained for audit purposes
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities

About You
- Relevant experience in a similar role with an understanding/background of mechanical or electrical trades
- Good technical ability to navigate SAP, excel and Microsoft office
- Forklift license is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to mix professionally and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to support the team when system issues arise
